Welcome to Saint Patrick's Parish.
Saint Patrick’s has a long history of service to the people of Halifax. The parish began (unofficially) in the 1830’s as a mission parish. The current church, an architectural treasure, was opened in 1885 and continues to be a sacred gathering place for a vibrant, growing Catholic faith community, building on its long tradition of reaching out to others and welcoming them.
Parish Vision: To be a vibrant, welcoming faith community that invites others to share in our Joy in the Gospel of Jesus Christ
We seek to:
Reverence the dignity of each person.
Extend hospitality to all.
Promote unity and understanding with other faith communities.
Journey with those seeking to belong.
Reach out to alienated Catholics.
Care for the needs of the less fortunate.
Empower all to discover, use, nurture, and share their gifts.
Provide an oasis in the old North End.
Allow Jesus to form us as a genuine Community in the Spirit.
